CLASSIC VARIETE is a series of concerts featuring opera, operetta and musical at VARIETE. This unique concert series will invite the audience to take part in intimate encounters with the works of the great masters of opera and operetta, including: Franz Lehár, Imre Kálmán and the undisputed king of the waltz: Johan Strauss. We will hear moving arias and unforgettable duos from pieces such as: La Traviata, The Csardas Princess, The Gypsy Baron, The Merry Widow, The Flittermouse, Giuditta or Countess Maritza. The repertoire will also feature beautiful Neapolitan songs and well-known and much-loved hit songs from such titles as: Fiddler on the Roof, The Phantom of the Opera or My Fair Lady. The concerts will be performed by outstanding solo singers of the young generation, who have won numerous awards at prestigious national and international competitions. Unusual voices and temperaments, diverse repertoire, one common goal: to transport listeners for a moment to a parallel, fairy-tale world of music.
To conclude the first installment of the highly acclaimed CLASSIC VARIETE series, warmly received by the audience, we invite you to a sort of summary - the best, THE BEST OF, the most beloved pieces from the genres of operetta, opera, and musical theater. We will be treated to the Spanish "Granada" by A. Lary, performed by the one and only tenor Michał Dziedzic, as well as the spicy Hungarian czardas "Csárdás of Sylvia" by I. Kálmán from the operetta "Die Csárdásfürstin," beautifully sung by soprano Justyna Bujak. A preview of the upcoming season will include unheard pearls such as Margherita's aria "L'altra notte in fondo al mare" by A. Boito from the opera "Mefistofele," to be performed by Justyna Bujak, and Pinkerton's aria "Addio fiorito asil" from "Madama Butterfly," masterfully sung by tenor Michał Dziedzic.
These intimate meetings with music will take place in the foyer of the Krakow VARIETE Theatre. We have planned surprises for our guests and not just musical ones.
