Tribute to Nat King Cole is a musical project by Maciej Miecznikowski & Krzysia Górniak on the 50th anniversary of the death of a great American vocalist and jazz pianist.
Maciej Miecznikowski – an outstanding musician with a characteristic voice, especially beautiful in the romantic repertoire & Krzysia Górniak – a renowned jazz guitarist whose gentleness and femininity, combined with virtuosity, is truly unique on the music market. It is a unique combination of two different temperaments and personalities. The greatest hits of Nat King Cole, including “Unforgettable”, “Route 66”, “When I Fall in Love”, sung and played with emotions by this duo, in unconventional arrangements for two guitars and vocal sound fresh and modern.
Tribute to Nat King Cole is an intimate music, played close to the ear and full of emotions. At concerts, Maciej & Krzysia will provide listeners with moments of reflection and excitement. Maciej Miecznikowski – born in the heart of the Kashubia region, a musician and vocalist, author of songs, as well as showman and television personality. A multi-instrumentalist – he sings accompanying himself on piano or guitar, he can also play trumpet, flute and accordion. He is a qualified opera singer, a graduate of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. He has a deep and strong voice, which allows him to interpret almost every piece of music from any repertoire with charm and charisma. He is known for surprising his audience. Although he was raised on classical music and jazz, he used a lot of musical genres, moving freely in various conventions. He has won many prestigious blues and jazz prizes, as well as prizes from journalists and the public at the Opole festivals. He participated in dozens of different musical projects: records, concerts and television programmes. As presenter of the popular music show Tak to leciało!, he was several times nominated to the Telekamera and Wiktor prizes. After 12 years of performing with the Leszcze band, in 2012 he started solo performances combining well-known hits with catchy songs from the new album Będzie z nami dobrze.

Krzysia Górniak – born in Olsztyn, “the most interesting guitar jazzwoman in Poland” (Jazz Forum) playing electric guitar, composer, producer, arranger. Representing unique artistic personality, she has been performing on festival and club stages in Poland and abroad for many years. Her way of playing combines virtuosity with subtle femininity, she feels good in many musical styles, freely moving in different conventions. Graduate of the University of Music and Drama in Graz (Austria) in the class of jazz guitar. She participated in many workshops, including with musicians such as: Wayne Brasel, Wynton Marsalis, Mike Stern, Karl Ratzer.
She has so far released five albums, acting as composer, arranger and producer.
