DESCRIPTION

It is the first album of Mateusz Pospieszalski since 2013, when the disc Mój biegun with music to Marcin Głowacki's film was released. Saxophonist and vocalist of Voo Voo has already recorded several individual albums, including empe3, Pamiętnik z Powstania Warszawskiego, Matika with film music, theatre music to Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale and Kolędy solo, played on several brass instruments. The new album, entitled Tralala, is closest to what Mateusz presented on the empe3 album, i.e. to the free approach to the subject of the track, its folk-jazz interpretation.

However, the band that we will hear here has a completely different composition: its core consists of father and son, namely Mateusz and Marek Pospieszalski; while vocals include Mateusz himself and Barbara Pospieszalska. Max Mucha, a musician from Częstochowa who is currently making an international career, play the contrabass, while the great young Berlin-based drummer Moritz Baumgartner plays the percussion. The album Tralala was created during four sessions in the Agnieszka Osiecka Studio located at the premises of Polish Radio Programme 3, under the careful eye of Jacek Gładkowski. “This album is the quintessence of my aesthetic desires, the tracks do have the structure of a song: melody and text, but I don’t like to be restricted by form,” says Mateusz Pospieszalski when asked about his new album.

Wojciech Waglewski wrote lyrics for two compositions, Bartek Kudasik from the Zakopower band – to another two; one song was written by Adam Nowak from the Raz Dwa Trzy band and one by Jacek Bieleński, “a free man from Łódź”. Two lyrics are written by Mateusz himself, which is not surprising, because he describes the disc as a very personal one, covering topics relevant to each and everyone of us. Three instrumental works complete the whole.

The album Tralala by Mateusz Pospieszalski will be released at the turn of January and February. It will be promoted on the concert tour scheduled for February, March and May
