The long-standing cooperation of Nergal, leader of the world-renowned band Behemoth and the veteran of the Polish rock scene, John Porter, is finally released. Available from 24 March 2017, Songs of Love And Death is the debut album of Me And That Man. Apart from Nergal and John, Me And That Man plays concerts with the bass player Matteo Bassoli and drummer Łukasz Kumański.
Me and that Man is a Polish band that performs music mixing rock, folk and country. It was founded in 2016 on the initiative of the Polish guitarist and vocalist Adam “Nergal” Darski, known for his performance in the Behemoth band, and the British vocalist and guitarist John Porter. The debut studio album Songs of Love And Death was released on 24 March 2017.
Adam Nergal Darski shared his reflection on this subject:
– March 24. We waited a long time for this day… and finally the fruit of our two-year wandering will see the light of the day (or night…). We are going out of the comfort zone to redefine who we are as artists. The album Songs of Love And Death tells a lot about this path, and much more - we are very proud of it! Me And That Man is a new initiative, an exciting new chapter in my life and the life of Mr Porter...! We invite you to our church… just don’t forget this church is black!
John Porter also has some thoughts about the band Me And That Man:
– The Me And That Man project is set up by two single guys who have found themselves in a place where they have never been before, who suddenly meet and shake hands of each other. This shows how music makes people meet: two completely distinctive men begin a common, artistic adventure. It was not easy, but we both decided that we would not go to any compromises that are an inherent danger in every musical cooperation. Fortunately, we know that in this case, it only made it better to us.
The disc recorded by the band Me And That Man Songs of Love and Death was released worldwide by the English company Cooking Vinyl, and the distribution in Poland is carried out by Agora publishing house.
