The concert will be part of a tour promoting the new album by SMOLIK//KEV FOX titled BELLY OF THE WHALE. The singles promoting this release, i.e. “Promises” and “Smoke And Mirrors”, are very hit songs and at the same time original positions in the duo’s catalogue, which will put you in a summer and dance mood with their stylistics taken from the 1990s.
SMOLIK//KEV FOX is an eclectic and evasive duo of Andrzej Smolik, an outstanding Polish producer, and Kev Fox, a British songwriter. SMOLIK//KEV FOX debuted with one of the best-reviewed albums of 2015, for which the artists received the Fryderyk award in the electronic and alternative category. In the concert version, these intricately composed, melancholic melodies by SMOLIK and KEV’s unmistakable, mesmerising, powerful voice take on a completely new energy. 2018 saw the release of QUEEN OF HEARTS, an EP whose recording session took place at the legendary Real World Studios in the UK, owned by Peter Gabriel.
BELLY OF THE WHALE, the artists’ new album, will be released by Kayax on 29 September 2023. The duo gives regular concerts and has already played at most of the major festivals (including Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Męskie Granie, Europejski Stadion Kultury, Letnie Brzmienia, Olsztyn Green Festival, etc.).
