This time the stage of the Krakow VARIETE Theatre will turn into an exclusive hotel, where the dancing Room Service, under the watchful eye of the charming Concierge, is preparing with utmost care for the arrival of a great star. The visit of the Diva is linked to a concert show for which tickets have sold out in hours. Will her presence disrupt the usual rhythm of the hotel’s life? What awaits behind the closed doors of the rooms? A romance, love or perhaps a scandal?
"VARIETE's Great Revue" offers an explosive combination of dance, acrobatics, live music, romance and celebrity, all set in the present day. The scenario was originated, written and choreographed by Krzysztof Tyszko, a musical dancer and choreographer, cooperating with many musical theatres in Poland, as well as TV productions, such as the series Osiecka and Wojenne dziewczyny, and Ewelina Adamska-Porczyk, a dancer, actress and choreographer, who played in over 70 stage productions, mainly in the Capitol Theatre in Wrocław. This tandem has already prepared such titles as Chicago and Pretty Woman – The Musical, which are part of the Krakow VARIETE Theatre’s repertoire. This time they invited for cooperation on their latest première three award-winning choreographers, namely Barbara Olech, Tina Papazyan and Adam Beta, leading actors, sixteen dancers, twelve musicians, as well as a couple of acrobats – Jacek Marks and Martyna Pytel. The artists will perform in costumes designed by Anna Chadaj and inspired by, among others, the avant-garde fashion designers. The rich career of this set and costume designer includes working on many drama, music, opera and puppet theatre productions. The set will be designed by Mariusz Napierała, the author of several dozen productions, mostly musical performances, ballets and musicals. Music and arrangements will be prepared by Mariusz Obijalski, a pianist, composer, producer and arranger, who had the opportunity to work on many ambitious music projects, together with such great artists as Zbigniew Wodecki, Monika Borzym or Fisz Emade Tworzywo. Unforgettable experience will certainly be provided by the live orchestra conducted by Ignacy Matuszewski, a pianist, composer, arranger and producer, who worked for the Krakow VARIETE Theatre on the performances Pretty Woman – The Musical and No sex please, we’re British. The lighting will be designed by Tadeusz Trylski, a theatre and architecture lighting designer who has worked with the theatres in the London’s West End and the New York’s Broadway, as well as in many musical theatres in Poland.
