In the spring of 2027, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will return to the stage of the VARIETE Theatre in Kraków.

The production debuted on the stage of the Warsaw’s Rampa Theatre in 2016 and immediately won the hearts of reviewers and audiences alike. This is an independent private production organised by Broadway in Poland.
Jesus Christ Superstar is an iconic rock opera by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, which shook up the musical theatre world in the 1970s. The story of Christ’s seven final days was initially only released as a concept album due to the authors’ concerns that a full show could be seen as blasphemous. Even though some still see it as controversial, many consider it a profound spiritual experience. In his article for Rzeczpospolita, Jan Bończa-Szabłowski even called the rendition by Wocial and Bello a ‘rock retreat’.
Wocial and Bello’s staging is well thought out and superbly directed, keeping the audience constantly engaged in the events taking place on and off the stage.
